Marc,
Are you sure you don't have this mixed up? 802.11g supports up to 54MB. I've
never heard of 54g???

I believe I have read that 802.11g and 54g are not exactly the same. 54g is
Broadcom's proprietary implementation of 802.11g?
Is there a real difference?
If I buy a laptop that specifies built-n 54g, but does not mention 802.11g
(HP 5500 series, for instance;
http://tinyurl.com/uvgo), will I be at any
disadvantage?
I did some research before posting this question, including googling this
group, but could not readily find an answer.
Thanks!
Marc
