If you're in the US try
www.fab-corp.com for cables as just one
suggestion. You'll need LMR400 for long runs to RP-TNC connectors.
If the run is short, say less than 10' then lower grade cable might work
for you. The problem is simply that it's not going to get you much if
you stick on a 5dBi antenna and lose 8dBi getting the signal to it!
Just to provide a round figure for you as you didn't say how far apart,
LMR400 will drop about 3dB over 50'. That translates to a signal
strength of half what you started with.
If it's from the floor (or loft) to the ceiling, it will work fine with
something like LMR195 and you'll be quite happy.
