Although i`m 5.65k from our exchange i`ve been constantly refused by BT due
to line noise they say. Zen in fact tried three times by `manual request`
but no joy. So is it worth while even considering HH or ISDN? I have
satellite Broadband by Satdrive but `back channel` always tied up and no
chance of XBox Live for my son. Would HH or ISDN be of any use to me?
Or should i contact the local Estate Agents? (

happy `broadband` New Year to all!

Roy.

Hi Roy,

I had HH before I was able to get broadband, and it is certainly a big
step forward from dialup. Apart from the very quick connect time and
faster speed, you get the benefit of an extra phone line, so no moans
from the missus about not being able to call her mum.
It is a bit on the pricey side, but another plus is that it's now
relatively painless to move from HH to broadband when it does reach
your area...

Although I may not have actually moved for broadband (I think...), I
certainly took great care to make sure my new house had it too. I'm
sure it has an effect on the saleability of a house!

HTH

Martin

Either would work but ISDN is only available for business customers -
BT wont supply new ISDN2e installations to non-business customers

Really? Would you care to point out the relevant BT announcement, or
where you got it from?

Thanks...

I can see nothing in the price list that shows this :-

http://www.serviceview.bt.com/list/c....boo/00131.htm

but I guess they ae pushing folks towards business highway, which appears to
cost the same. However I beleive that its not so easy (ie.e impossible) to
call bump on BH IF you use the analogue ports.

Yes...it bothers me because I want to get ISDN2e at home quite soon!

It seems nonsensical to say "you aren't a business, so you can't have
ISDN2e; have Business Hoghway instead" !

HH is useless for my purposes and BH is not as good, for the reasons you
mention and because I'd therefore have two numbers I'd never use.
