hello!
i have an 3crshpw796 wlan-cardbus-card.
it is working correctly under windows. but i want to use it under
linux (debian).
so i tried to use the 8211-driver and did it like
http://www.espina.info/papers/officeconnect/
Card is activating, but no wep-link will be established to my
access-point.
im using yenta-socket and hotplug-package for my cardbus on kernel
2.4.23 (selfcompiled)
i did the wireless-configuration via /etc/network/interfaces.
If I'm doing the wireless-config through iwconfig manually, then it's
also not working. If i'm controlling my settings by iwconfig, then
essid is not shown and mac-address of the access-point is not found.
If I'm switching from Managed to Ad-Hoc-Mode, then sometimes my
access-point is found, but in this Mode i also can't establish a link.
I've nothing found about this in the internet what helped me and so im
asking here.
Im using wep-128bit, but also with no-encryption it is not working.
I also switched on some debugs in the lm.h and so i have some output
if i do an "dmesg". But this didnt help me. I'm only knowing, that the
variant of Radio - read from eeprom - is not 1 and not 2, it is 0!
Wireless-Tolls are also the newest (self-compiled)
What may be wrong in my config?
