Hi all,

I notice reading through some posts from last year, that several folk have
had issues with 3com 3CRWE154G72 card and WPA. I am using this card with
the matching ADSL wireless router, and am having the same problem.

Basically, the card manager does not appear to support the WPA standard - so
it has to be disabled, and Windows has to control the wireless networking.
This is not prefreable, but I cannot get it to work any other way.

However, I read on a web-based forum that someone was able to download a
"patch" from the 3com site to rectify this. I cannot find this patch. Does
it exists? If so, where? Here is the link to the forum,
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...7400~mode=flat

All help appreciated on this,

Many thanks
Rob

Hi Rob

Firstly make sure your router is on the latest firmware.

I am running Windows XP Home. I downloaded the Microsoft wpa update
for XP and didn't even install the 3 Com card manager software. I let
XP handle the wpa settings and it seems to work.

Interestingly the newer version of the PC Card driver on the 3com
website did not work and I had to revert to the version on the
supplied CD.
