Hi,
I bought a 3Com gateway thinking it had a built-in modem. It has an
Ethernet port to connect to an Ethernet modem, so I bought a D-Link
modem. Using the dsl port on the gateway, I cannot get the modem to
work, although it works just fine when connected direct to the pc. I
am wondering if the connecting cable is special, although I've tried
straight and cross to no avail. Anyone had any luck with this 3Com
product?

Kind regards

Clone your PC's MAC address into the router or follow the instructions here.

You may need to configure the D-Link modem as a bridge. What models are
the router and the modem?

Thanks to you all. Ever wish you hadn't started something? I haven't
got it to work yet, but haven't given up, either.
