Hi everybody,

I installed a 3COm PCI network card on a PC running Fedora Core 3 with
a 2.6.8.1 kernel. I noticed that the card is re-initialized every
minute, approximately. That means that the driver is reloaded and all
settings in proc/sys/net/... specific for this card are reset to the
default values and all values that I set manually before are lost...

Did anyone experience a similar behaviour with any brand of cards? Do
you have an idea if this could be due to the driver or the hardware
itself or maybe the OS?

I replaced the card by an Intel cards and there it works perfectly.
With other brands I never had this kind of problem. Or, at least, I
didn't notice it... :-)

Any hints appreciated!
Tobias
