3c574_cs device eth1 does not seem to be present

Hello,

I am encountering a problem installing the 3ccFEM556B 3COM card
(ethernet + Modem) on my DELL laptop.
I am using RH enterprise edition 3 (kernel 2.4)
I already installed the 3c574_cs driver (as instructed on the Linux
PCMCIA HOWTO), and later also tried the PCMCIA RPM from RedHat.

When trying to configure and activate the card through the Network
Configuration graphic window, I get the error "3c574_cs device eth1
does not seem to be present" and when I try to fix it's IRQ I get the
error :
"command failed: /sbin/modprobe 3c574_cs irq=10
output:
modprobe: Can't locate module 3c574_cs "

Does anyone encountered this problem or know the reason to that
problem?

Try "depmod -a" and (1) reboot or (2) "/etc/init.d/pcmcia restart"

It may not work, but it's worth a shot.
