2nd computer can't get on the internet

I have a G Base Station MN700 on my main computer running
windows xp. I purchaed a second computer and have a linksys
wireless PCI adapter card installed in it. I can recognize
the network from this 2nd p.c but can't get on the internet.
I know I have done something wrong on the installation
somewhere. I am a new user of the mn700 and not quite sure
how to connect the 2nd p.c properly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Generally, if you're given a connection notice, but can't get anywhere the
condition exists because you're not getting a DHCP feed (IP assignment for
that computer) from the base station. Try going to the command prompt
(assuming this is on Windows XP) and typing in "ipconfig /all" without the
quotes. If that information reports your system as being a 169.*.*.*
number, you're not being assigned an IP.

Have you powered off and then powered on the base station (NOT reset) since
adding the new computer? If not, try that when you have the new computer
powered down. After the base station is operational, then start the new
computer and see if it is recognized. Check also to see if your new PCI
adapter is looking for the right channel.
