Saw there advert in Metro paper and was gobsmacked at their offfering of
2MB ADSL at 24.99 exc. vat.

Get PrimeTime 2000 now and enjoy its blistering 2Mb service for the same
price as PrimeTime 1000.
That's just £24.99 (ex VAT) per month (£29.36 inc VAT) for a service that
delivers 4 times the performance of many well-known 512K services at the
same price.

Offer only applies to new customers for orders placed from 17 July 2003 to
31 August 2003 (inclusive) and is subject to availability and survey.
Bulldog's standard Terms and Conditions apply. 12 month minimum term
applies. As at 1 September 2004, the then prevailing Primetime 2000 price
will be applied to your Service. Offer not available to existing customers.

Yeah great but
1, you have to cancel your existing adsl with your current provider *before*
Bulldog can confirm whether you can actually have the 2mbps service.
2, Even if Bulldog will/can provide you with the advertised service you'll
be without adsl for around two weeks during the changeover
3, PrimeTime 2000 = only after 6pm

Not if your primary market (ie Central London) is business dominated.

In the beginning - there were two main dial-up companies in the UK - Demon &
Pipex. Demon went for the hobby market, Pipex for the business. Result - you
could get onto Demon in the day - but not the evening and v.v. for Pipex.
Then they decided to do a little cross marketing to flatten the demand
curve...
