Good morning all,

I have been having issues with a 2003 Server R2 with SP2 for about a month
now. It is the lone domain controller in a single-server environment with
less than 20 user accounts/client PCs. About once a week AD seems to stop
responding completely. After a reboot everything comes back up fine and
works again for approximately a week. During the down time I get Event IDs
of 4000 and 9999 repeatedly in my DNS Server log as well as Userenv - 1053
repeatedly in the Application log. If I attempt to open ADUC I get an error
of "The server is not operational". dcdiag comes back with the following:

Domain Controller Diagnosis

Performing initial setup:
[FILESERVER1] LDAP search failed with error 58,
The specified server cannot perform the requested operation..
**Error: The machine, FILESERVER1 could not be contacted, because of a
bad
net response. Check to make sure that this machine is a Domain
Controller.

After a reboot, all errors in Event Viewer discontinue and dcdiag comes back
with everything OK. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
