2003 server goes off network every sunday

Every Monday I have a windows 2003 server that we cannot
access untill we reboot. The server itself has not done
its Sunday back up so we know its happening on Sunday.
Can anyone give me some ideas.

Does the backup start or attempt to start and fail? Have you checked the
system event log to see if there are any event errors that happen before or
during the time the server is unreachable?
