We recently installed a 2003 Server, and when I reboot the machine, the
username is correct, however instead of the Domain Name, it puts the local
computer name in the domain field.

I canot figure out why it's doing that, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Hello KO-PGHTECH,

The machine is added to the domain and you can see it in ADUC in the computers
container?

Best regards

Hi. I assume you're talking about the login dialog box? Then, I can think
of two possible reasons:

1. Most likely, if you joined the server t the domain, then the first time
you rebooted in the "Log on to" field you saw the machine name. As long as
it's not a domain controller, then there should be a drop-down toggle in that
control that will allow you to select the appropriate domain.

2. Less likely, is that you never joined it to the domain, so the only
option is to log in to the local computer.

There may be other problems, but those are the two I can think of right now.
Hope this helps.

Mike
