Hello.
I've just replaced our Win2k server with 2003, have applied SP1 and am
finding that I can map several drives, but the minute I try to change
something thru that drive,(ie. create a new folder) access is denied. I
sometimes get the message 'access is denied' or nothing happens at all.
Forinstance, on one wkstn data using NtBackup doesnot work because it uses a
mapped drive to the server. Wkstns which are part of the domain or not have
the same problem. Mapped drives to other computers in the domain have the
same problem. It makes me think that some security policies upon
authentication are stopping it.
Why do I feel like dumping SP1.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Ed

Ed,
are you aware that the default share permissions changed between w2k and
w2k3 ?in w2k when you shared a folder it gave everyone full control (at
share, not NTFS level)

I dont follow your meaning: from a client that could write to shares on the
server you replaced, can you no longer write to shares on other servers?
or is the word "not" ommitted from this sentance?
