2003 R2 Server: How to log in with a Win 98 Workstation?

I have a Windows 98SE workstation that I am trying to log into a Windows
2003 R2 Server. Apparently there is some security issues with this and I
have been all around the Microsoft Website trying to resolve this.

Can you give me steps to resolve this problem?

I have downloaded and installed on the 98 machine:

dsclient9x.msi (DSClient for Windows 98
5234_ENU_i386_zip.exe (Hot fixes 272594 and 323466 from Microsoft)

I attempted a bunch of registry changes in Win 98, suggested by various KB
articles, to no avail. Any attempt to login as administrator eventually
gives me the dreaded "domain password you supplied is not correct or access
to your logon server is denied"

Any help would be appreciated.

When Windows 98 was released the Windows server was NT. Things are a bit
different in Server 2003. The default security settings are tighter. The
minimum is NTLMv2. You will need to relax those security settings on the
server to allow a W98 client to connect.

Disable SMB signing on the 2003 server. Keep in mind, this GREATLY reduces
security and is not recommended.
