How do I configure a Windows 2000 Server box to use "Rogers High Speed
Internet Lite"?

http://www.shoprogers.com/Store/Cabl...ntent/lite.asp

Thanks.

Is the server standalone or a domain controller?

Just plug the server into the cable modem/router/switch, if this is not a
trick question.

This is a serious question, one which I hope to find the answer for.

You see, I have no problem connecting with Windows 98SE. But when I plug
the cable to another machine running Windows 2000 Server, I'm not able to
get internet access. Accessing a website in IE 6 will result in "page
cannot be displayed". I tried using "IPCONFIG /release" and then "IPCONFIG
/renew" but it failed. Errors were related to "DHCP".

Any suggestion?

Thanks.

Stop DHCP service and DNS on the server if they run. Ensure the server NIC
is set to obtain the IP automatically. Reset the cable modem. Did the Rogers
ask about your MAC address?

I'll give that a try. Thanks.

And no, they did not ask about my MAC address.
