A few simple questions -

1) How can I tell what standard the wireless adaptor in my laptop is working
to?
I mean, how do I tell if it is a 'b' or 'g' without testing it with various
networks.
My friend has lost her documentation, if it ever said.

2) The laptop includes an 'Atheros Wireless Network Adaptor'. If it is 'b'
standard
can it be upgraded to 'g' standard by replacing the adaptor (has no PCMCIA
slot)
or is this device embedded on the motherboard?

Thanks for any help.

Bill

Hi
If it is an inside install of Wireless it is probably 802.11g.
Most of these units are plugged inside the laptop to the motherboard, they
can be exchanged by technicians.
