1) Not as far as I know.
2) The client lease time applies to the computers that obtain their IP
address from the router's DHCP server. It has nothing to do with PPPoE. If
you type "ipconfig /all" into a command prompt (W2k and XP), you can see how
much time your computer still has on the lease. Once the lease expires, the
computer requests a renewal of the IP address. The new IP address will
likely be the same as the old IP address. Short lease times are typically
used when a limited number of IP addresses need to be available for many
different computers over the course of a day (e.g. public access point)
while long lease times are used when there is no need to assign computers
new IP addresses over the course of a day. When a lease expires, there
should be no disconnection from the internet unless the lease is not
renewed. To manually renew a lease, just type "ipconfig /renew"
