Hi,

Check the IP filters on NICs. Open RRAS go to IP routing -> General ->
select the NIC and double click on it. Open Input filter and Output filter
and make sure you have rules setup that will traffic among one and the other
subnet.

OK I removed the 2 static routes I had entered... and did this
Here are the trace route results from wrkstation 192.168.2.55 to 172.18.6.55
Tracing route to 172.18.6.55 over a maximum of 30 hops
1 <10 ms <10 ms <10 ms DEVSERVER [192.168.2.102]
2 * * * Request timed out.
3 * * * Request timed out.
4 * * * Request timed out.

heres the ping to server though
Pinging 172.18.6.102 with 32 bytes of data: > DEVSERVER's other NIC
Reply from 172.18.6.102: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128

Server NICS 192.168.2.102 and 172.18.6.102
Any Ideas.?..
THANKS..........

former POSTS...
Maybe Im confused.. I used RRAS to set this thing up (ENABLE routing on LAN
checked).
The workstations have the default gateway as the Server NICS IP Address. I
can ping either NIC on the server (SERVER NIC 172.18.6.102 from the
wrkstation 192.168.2.55 and SERVER NIC 192.68.2.102 from Wrkstation
172.18.6.55 ) but can't ping the 192.168.2.55 from the 172.18.6.55 IP and
viceversa. Thats why I added the static entries in the below text.. In other
words I can see both server network IPs from either workstation but cant get
pas the server on the other network to the other workstation. Any ideas??
Thanks

On WrkStation1:
NIC 192.168.2.55 255.255.255.0 GTWAY 192.168.2.102
On WrkStation2:
NIC 172.18.6.55 255.255.255.0 GTWAY 172.18.6.102
see below for further.

Don't post the same question more than once in the group under different
subjects. It just causes confusion and may get people "ticked off" enough
that they won't reply to you.

I already answered this in the "other" message you posted.

I believe by default ICMP is blocked when using RRAS.
Check the inbound and outbound connections.

I have no filters enabled, I didn't think they were needed..

One other note. I can ping both workstations from the server, but cant ping
from workstation to the workstation.. For the sake of my sanity, I hooked up
this same setup with 2 wrkstations on my W2k server box, and it worked..
I guess Windows 2003 server has some sort of limitation that doesn't allow
this type of routing....
Thanks...

Try:

1. Disable RRAS

2. Make sure firewall is not enabled on either of the Server adapters

3. Run regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\T cpip\Parameters

set the value for IPEnableRouter to 1.
