2 machines sharing the same IP

Hello, I have a wireless LAN with Cisco 350 Series cards,
and they all get the internet. There are about 50 machines
in all and they're setup in workgroups. One machine
recently has been knocked off the network and the internet
as well, and I have finally found out why. It shares the
same IP address as one of the others. (I could not tell U
how this happened!)
My question is, where do I go to change the IP on it so it
can get back online with the workgroup AND the internet??

The way I went about it had ONLY gotten half of my desired
results - Rt clicked Net.Neighborhood/propeties, clicked
on TCP/IP -> Cisco Systems 350 Series PCI Wireless LAN
Adapter, which is found in >( the following network
components are installed )window. I then clicked
properties for that. On the IP address tab I specified the
IP address myself. (There was no IP before I had done
this, it was greyed out with >obtain an IP address
automatically< chosen.)
With me doing that, it was able to rejoin the workgroup
but there was still no internet. So I have undone that and
now I am back where I started from.
Hope I didn't leave out any NEEDED details.

Help Needed! THANX N ADVANCE The Rookie / Wayne B.

If you assign the IP address manualy you will likely need to assign
the DNS server and gateway entries manually as well.

If you do assign the IP address manually make sure you setup the
router to avoid assigning IP addresses in that range. On mine you
can choose a range that it uses, then manually assign the others.

But... It sounds like you have another machine on the network that
is manually configured and using the same IP address as the
problem PC. Find that one and change it to automatic also...

In addition, we once had a problem here where there were two
computers offering DHCP service on our LAN... Since they
could not coordinate they were generating IP address conflicts
quite often...

I had a similar promlem with msw98se. I ran winipcfg.exe
from the windows directory. I "released" the address of
the lan card and "renewed" which assigned a new address.

I hope this helps. JD
