Hi all,
I`ve got a network in my house, that has a single router sharing the
internet connection, and a series of switches with cables running between
them and into the machines. I`ve just routed a second cable directly to a
switch, and this switch also has a second connection to the router going via
another switch., I thought that this was something that would kill the
network, but it is still running strong. i`m going to remove the connection
going via the second switch, but i`m curious as to whether leaving it in
would produce any issues?

Thanks for your help.

A switch is like a router but at level 2 rather than level 3 - if they
were simple repeating hubs you wouldn't have been so lucky.
