I have a Windows 2003 native network with 2 dhcp servers (servera, serverb)
handing out ip's. Both seem to be working fine. Except for one subnet on one
server. I have checked the configuration on both servers. They are fine. But
serverb does not had out ip's to a particular subnet.

Serverb is handing out ip's on other subnets. There are no conflicts in the
address pool of both servers.

Hello Frank,

Is the router/switch where the other subnets are connected with configured
to forward DHCP request from the clients to the server? Or did you install
a DHCP relay agent in the other subnet?

Please describe more detailed how your subnets are interconnected.

Best regards

Hello Meinolf,
The router is currently forwarding requests. But serverA is the only server
that is supplying the requests. While serverB is supplying requests from
other subnets but not from this particular subnet. Which is why it is
puzzling.

Thanks

Hello Frank,

So both servers have a scope for that subnet? Well , DHCP has the first come,
first serve princip, the client sends a broadcast and the first DHCP server
that get's it will answer.

Yes, but would you not expect that one server would not always get the
request first? One servers has almost used all the ip's in the scope while
the secone hasn't used any. And they are both on the same subnet with the
equal nic speeds.

Hello Frank,

Can you chagne the order in the router where it forwards the request to?
