After talking to Netgear, I'm told I can use 2 of their routers set to
AP mode to span to my barn.

Anyone have any success with this type of setup?

On the AP in the barn, will I need to use a crossover cable to
rebroadcast?

Thanks much.

I have done this in a couple of cases using Linksys AP's. Worked very well.
As far as the crossover cable goes I think it is usually assumed that an
access point is going to be plugged into a switch and is wired for a
straight through cable. Most new switches automatically configure the ports
to work with whatever is plugged into them.

thanks.

Which linksys did you use?

One AP will be plugged into the DHCP router one the other side of the
wireless I wanted the "recieving AP" to "crossover" to some sort of
wireless AP to extend the signal to the other side of my barn....
