Hi

I have a dsl line provided by my company. I want my own PC though , will I
be able to use the same broadband line for access to the internet, probably
through a seperate service provider (i.e. not through the network at work)?

Thanks

If you have a normal dsl line, you can probably use that as you would
with any regular dsl connection - I suspect (although I don`t have a lot
of knowledge about them) that any work related activity is via a VPN
connection of some sort.

The phone line (phone number/circuit number combination) is tied to one ISP
at a time (and switching needs a migration or cease of the one ISP and new
supply for the other). Your line is locked to the company service, and a
separate line is the only way to get complete independence from that one.

Is there any reason why you cannot use your works connection for personal use?
Just network the 2 computers together? I am sure most companies would allow
personal use of the connection if they insist on your having their connection at
home.
