Hi,

I remember reading somewhere an article that suggested that powers as low as
200mW and an antenna with a gain as low as 14db can lead to health problems.
Is this the case?

Or, for example, is it dangerous to touch an antenna when connected to a PC
Card?

Cheers,

Rich.

Some people claim this.
There have been no studies demonstrating actual health effects.

Only if you jam it hard enough into an orifice to damage.

And don't run with scissors.

An ordinary PC card is 30mw, 65mw, or 100mw, with a 2dbi antenna max. That
isn't even close to 200mw and a 14db antenna. That is assuming that 200mw at
14dbi is ACTUALLY dangerous (which it isn't)

Ok folks,

I get the picture!

So far I've learned:

1. Not to insert the antenna into any bodily orificice
2. Not to run with scissors
3. 2.4GHz transmissions on aounrd 100mW with a 7.8db Gain Antenna will not
cook my pets (or indeed, myself).
Cheers,

Richard!!
