1394 to USB

have one pc with adsl modem and 1394 plug on the mainboard

is it possible to network another pc using the 1394 plug from one
to the other into the USB ?

No not really. There is a WinXP construct for Networking over FireWire, it is not a good
idea. The *best* way to go about it is to use a Ethernet NIC. Either an embedded chip-set,
PCMCIA card (if a notebook) or a PCI card.
