1394 network adapter on my wireless system?

I have a wireless router, and 2 wireless NIC cards, and a wireless laptop.
Now I also show a 1394 network adapter icon in the startup tray. I "think"
it appeared when I installed a new video card and started using the TV out.
Or......I also started using a USB powered ZIP drive. To complicate the
matter, if I leave the USB cable plugged in, on reboot, the computer locks
up. And, if that is not enough, my connection is lost.
WHAT HAVE I DONE?????
