Updated firmware. Tried agere drivers. Tried new client manager. Tried
EVERYTHING and can't get this card to work with my linksys wireless router.
Connected indicates excellent, but Windows 2000 reports "cable
disconnected". I have yet to discover a fix for this and Dell is of no help.
Before I go out and purchase a new pcmcia card, has anyone got this 1150
truemobile card to work with windows 2000? I have a Dell C640 laptop and I'm
just on my last wits here!

I was having periodic signal loss with my Truemobile1150 [yesterday post
"periodic signal loss"]. I went the same route as you dell,agere....no luck.
Went thur suggestions posted here in newsgroup and problem was solved when i
went back to original XP driver. It might be worth a try with 2000 also.
Anyway, the 1150 seems to work good and u do have a option to "pop off" the
little plastic cover [abt. the size of a BB] and use a external antenna with
ur 1150 [dell don't mention
that].
I'm using the 1150 on a old 200mz/96Mb panasonic laptop with XP

On the internal MiniPCI version?

I know it has 2 mini-coax connectors which connect the internal antenna to
the card. Have never been able to find where to buy these connectors from.
Any suggestions?

No man, whatever I do to this thing it always says "cable disconnected" with
excellent signal strength. I think it's a firmware/driver problem but since
"b" stuff is old, I doubt Dell will follow up and be motivated to fix it. I
have done it all to get this internal card working, sure enough to go out
and purchase a $70 "g" card for my pcmcia slot which works flawlessesly.
Waste of money spent on this 1150.

Dude, I have XP and 2K installed my laptop. I got both to work with my
1150. Infact, I love it. I did notice a slight configuration
differance in the 2000. In your control panel, you need to set your
SSID and WEP in a seperate location than the actual network adaptor
settings. There is an icon in the control panel specifically for
wireless connection.... I can't remember the name but it's obvious when
you go into your control panel. It's labeled something like "Wireless
settings" or somethink similar. Starts with Wireless, anyways. It'll
get installed in your control panel after your drivers are installed and
configured. I too was momentarly stumped that I couldn't config my SSID
and WEP within the adaptor settings. Let us know if it's where or not.

I have found the problem. It's actually an IRQ routing issue with certain
computers. I needed to add a registry entry in to disable isa to pci irq
routing and it worked on the first try. Yahooo.
