In Australia ($69.95) The UK is behind again then as is'nt our max 2MB for a

Unlikely there is one. One of their two cable operators indicates speed at
100x28 modem rate or about 2.8mb. The other is less specific. Mate there had
about 6mb for a while two years ago but that has been throttled back.

As I'm going back there in a year or two I await details with interest

Don't most Australian ISP's have nasty caps on traffic leaving their network
because of the crazy transatlantic costs?

Don't believe them, they're probably talking about Web Page allowance or
whatever. $69-95 will get unlimited package at about 2.8 it appears but
that's it.

In Japan they can now get a 23Mb / sec Broadband connection for under
£30 so even the Aussies have a long way to go.....
