Is the 10 system limit on a peer to peer network for win
98 able to be circumvented. Is it a 10 system limit per
workgroup? maybe a ten system limit per switch/hub?
I am not sure.

I don't think Win98 has a concurrent session limit.
WinXP Home limit 5 concurrent sessions
WinXP Pro limit 10 concurrent sessions
Win2K limit 10 concurrent sessions

No, the limit cannot be circumvented. It's ten connections into one host
PC.

>Hi:

Thanks for your eply. Let me give you a bigger picture
since it seems that you are in the know!
This situation is at a school. Currently there are 14
computers connected to a single 16 port switch. The
workgroup for these is "Student". There are another 13
computers connected to another 16 port switch. The
workgroup for these is "Staff". No more then ten are
alowwed on pre workgroup/switch but more then 10 are
alowwed on in total., say 9 staff and 8 student. I am
trying to find out if more then 10 can log on because they
are on different switches or in different workgroups. This
is a peer to peer network.
Thanks
Marshall
