Very strange, I had this problem on my w2k network, where a users seems to
use multiple Cal when connecting to the network.. I bought 15 Cals for my 12
users, but I had to change the licence number on the server to 30 because
otherwise some users where locked out!!! I only have a few printer shared
and some folders, that's all, everybody connects to the server via some
mapped network drive letters!

So what is using up these cals (up to 3 or 4 per user)!!!

I am planning on installing SBS2003, but if I understood right if I
encounter this problem with SBS I won't be able to add licences since sbs
uses activation to manage Cals, that's a shame, unless the problem is fixed
?

Can anyone help me with this?

Cyril

Turn off and disable the license logging service and keep track of your
licenses manually. Outlook for one is very bad at releasing licenses, but
the service itself is buggy and is not mandatory in W2k/AD. Check in an SBS
group to make sure you can do this with SBS....I don't use it so I'm not
sure.
